$15, and
500 seats.

fifteen dollars. five hundred seats. both numbers have a reason.

why $15

i could have priced it at nine. nine dollars a month is what you charge when you are quietly worried the thing is not worth much, and the customer reads that signal even if they cannot name it. cheap software says do not expect too much of me.

i could have priced it at fifty. fifty says this is for teams, buy it on the company card, book a demo first. otto is not that. it is one person and their phone.

fifteen is lunch. a chief of staff for the price of a sandwich and a coffee, aimed at the person paying with their own money and expecting it to earn its keep. the trial runs seven days, free, no card up front. on day seven you pay if you want it to stay. if it did not earn the fifteen by then it was never going to.

why 500 seats

part of it is the rules. sms is regulated, and you cannot ramp an sms product from zero to everyone overnight without the carriers noticing and slowing you down. paced rollout is the only sane way in.

part of it is on purpose. the first five hundred people set the quality bar for everyone after them. if i open the doors to unlimited on day one, i get a flood i cannot support, the product ships half-formed to thousands, and the word of mouth is already bad before it was ever good. five hundred is a number i can actually watch.

what happens after 500

i do not know yet. i would rather say that plainly than invent a plan i have not earned the right to have. what the five hundred teach me decides what comes next. when i know, i will write it here.

if you want one of the seats, the list is open on the home page. the rest of the questions live on the faq.
